Patrick Conaty
Creative Photographer / Animation / Visual Effects
As a creative photographer and visual effects specialist, Patrick Conaty conveys his inimitable style by merging his passion for photography with his gift for bringing the still to life through creative animation.
As a commercial photographer, Mr. Conaty’s early work spanned a broad spectrum, ranging from the dramatic heroism of firefighters in action to the surreal beauty of international runway talent.
An interest in fine art photography led Mr. Conaty to explore more deeply the unique auras of architecture and defined space. His painstakingly designed interpretations now reside in W Hotels, Starwood’s leading worldwide boutique hotel chain, and as part of numerous individuals’ personal collections.
Patrick’s ability to merge creative photography and visual effects has afforded him several opportunities working on major motion pictures, most recently GI Joe – Rise of Cobra, and international events such as the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Patrick’s animation and visual effects work has been featured in arts magazines such as 3D Total and Calgary-based Avenue as well as on popular computer graphics websites including CGTalk and CGChannel.
Born and raised in Calgary, AB, Mr. Conaty studied fine art at Calgary’s Alberta College of Art and Design and later studied film and visual effects at Vancouver Film School.
He continues to live and work in Vancouver, BC, creating art, working in motion pictures and pursuing his passion for creative photography.
